Historic and eclectic, Plaza Midwood is an interesting neighborhood with a mixture of residents, homes, and businesses. The Plaza, a street bisecting the area, and Midwood, a large subdivision within, lend this part of Charlotte it's name. Oak trees, crepe myrtles, and flower gardens line the streets, inviting residents and visitors to take a stroll or window shop among the antique stores and unique boutiques. An array of delectable restaurants and popular casual watering holes are part of the neighborhood as well, where friendly proprietors and regular patrons mingle.
Another of the city's first streetcar suburbs, due to it's close proximity to Uptown Charlotte, Plaza Midwood has some of the most impressive bungalows, many of which have been or are being restored back to their original charm. The neighborhood is located just next to NoDa and Chantilly, other dynamic Charlotte areas.
With a community garden and neighborhood watch program, a strong sense of community is everpresent in Plaza Midwood, with residents socializing together at school fundraisers and festivals throughout the year. |
