Once an equestrian and farming community, The Village of Marvin, located in Union County, North Carolina, was incorporated on July 1, 1994 after resisting an annexation attempt from the nearby town of Indian Trail, NC.
Today, this sought after bedroom community next to the metropolitan city of Charlotte, NC, covers approximately 3.9 square miles and has approximately 1,400 residents.
The Village of Marvin has worked hard to maintain it's small town atmosphere by closely managing growth. In 2004, a new land use plan was enacted by the town to preserve the area's open spaces, historic horse farms and low-density single family developments.
In addition, Marvin has placed a strong emphasis on the development of community recreational offerings such as hiking, biking and horse trails, making this community an outdoor lover's dream. Staying true to it's equestrian roots dating back to the 1800s, Marvin has expanded existing horse trails and greenways to ensure the future of it's equestrian programs and community.
Marvin's controlled growth and emphasis on its roots has made it a picturesque equestrian village, with beautiful open spaces, wonderful trails and greenways and a charming small town atmosphere, making The Village one of the most sought after communities in the area.
