Welcome to the town of Mint Hill, NC. Nestled in a cozy corner of Mecklenburg County bordering Union County and Cabarrus County, Mint Hill is a small town on the outskirts of a rapidly growing metropolitan area giving Mint Hill the best of both worlds. This peaceful suburban residential community of approximately 16,000 residents is located only 20 minutes from uptown Charlotte, the fifth largest urban region in the nation, offering a large variety of culture, sports, entertainment and culinary delights.

Incorporated March 11, 1971, the community of Mint Hill was first settled in 1750. The town has a rich Scottish heritage stemming from a tide of Scottish immigrants settling in the area in the late eighteenth century after being driven from the Scottish highlands due to the loss of their lands to sheep farming. Mint Hill's Scottish pride and heritage continues today in the names of Mint Hill residents and with the Mint Hill Scottish Festival and Highland Games held each spring. The festival features Scottish music, dancers, food and representatives of Scotland's clans. The festival draws approximately 3000 attendees each year. For more information visit the Mint Hill Scottish Society website.

Today Mint Hill is a close knit community whose residents take pride in all aspects of their community offerings. From the beautiful parks to the private and public golf courses and country clubs to the schools, Mint Hill is a town whose citizens are involved and on the move. Although Mint Hill is primarily a residential community, the business district offers approximately 285 businesses and professional services. Mint Hill also offers an invitation to the rest of the world to come for a visit during the annual Mint Hill Madness Festival. Mint Hill Madness is a three day event, held the last week-end of September, drawing tens of thousands to Mint Hill. Festival highlights include a Saturday morning parade, rides, fireworks, arts and crafts and many food vendors. For more information, visit the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce.
