Southern Suburbs Real Estate: Steele Creek, South Park, Pineville, Matthews, Mint Hill
Steele Creek: The Steele Creek Township has seen three quarters of its area annexed by Charlotte City Proper, and with major construction and roadway improvements has become a booming suburb on the southwest side. Freshly built town homes, sub-divisions, and apartment complexes are constantly going up and pushing the urban sprawl closer and closer toward the border with Fort Mill, SC and Tega Cay, South Carolina. The recent addition of the giant Steele Creek shopping complex with a Super Target, Best Buy and many mainline retail shops and restaurants has made this area an attractive place to settle for many Charlotteans wanting to get out of the city core, but still have access to mainstream shopping amenities.
Southpark: Currently one of the hottest areas to live in the Charlotte area, Southpark provides all the makings for an upscale city lifestyle. Its pristine neighborhoods showcase sprawling mansions, family ranch style homes and fashionable new condos. Southpark Mall is home to Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus, Belk, Burberry, Kate Spade, Crate and Barrel and many more luxury brands. In addition, there are storefronts for many major brand names-such as The Gap, Banana Republic, Express and Victoria Secret. Adjacent to the mall a new outdoor shopping complex houses an Earth Fare natural foods grocery store and boutique shops. If you are looking for a spot that says "Southpark", Mediterranean Five is very popular for after work cocktails or special dinner out.
Pineville: The southeast side of Charlotte has expanded down to this neighboring suburb. A mecca for commercial and small to medium-sized businesses, Pineville is always humming with energy. The Carolina Place Mall, located in Pineville, has most major brands represented in addition to Macys, Dillards, Belk and Sears. Chain restaurants like Jasons Deli, Joes Crab Shack, Buca Di Bepo and Chilis are also abundant. This is the place to knock out all your shopping errands in one fail swoop and then meet your friends for lunch. Apartment complexes and family oriented sub-divisions are plentiful with a support system of city amenities close at hand. Also conveniently located is I-485, which makes an easy connection to venues in either Fort Mill, South Carolina-such as Carowinds or the Charlotte Knights Baseball Stadium, or Charlotte.
Matthews: Comfortable suburban life in a picturesque setting is available in this suburb just East of Charlotte. Easy access to the city via Independence Blvd or to neighboring suburbs of Ballantyne and Pineville via Highway 51 make it an ideal location. Streets lined with trees and clusters of shops and restaurants also add to the ease of life here. A great summer treat for the family is the Matthews Alive Festival, which draws over a hundred thousand visitors each year, or catch an act at the Matthews Comedy Zone for a good laugh year round.
Mint Hill: This charming township is built to please. Developed around the idea of old-fashioned family living, everything you need is contained and close at hand. Golf courses and public recreation areas are abundant and civic pride is a notable characteristic of this town.
